TRANSPERFECT NAMED TO LIST OF "NY AREA'S LARGEST PRIVATELY HELD COMPANIES"

Company Specializing in Translation Services and Technology Climbs 25 Spots to 145th on Crain's Annual List

 

NEW YORK, NY, November 27, 2007 – TransPerfect Inc. today announced it was named for a second year in a row to Crain's New York Business' list of the “NY Area's Largest Privately Held Companies,” climbing 25 spots from last year's list to the 145th spot in the rankings.  

“As a company that was founded fifteen years ago in a dorm room with little more than a credit card and a dream, this is one of those moments when you take a step back and appreciate your progress,” said Phil Shawe, who co-founded the company with partner Liz Elting in 1992. Elting added, “We've been blessed with having some of the most dedicated and motivated professionals in the business services industry on our team. The success behind this recognition is something that our entire company can take a great deal of pride in having achieved.”

Companies based in New York City and Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties in New York and in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties in New Jersey were eligible for the list. Last year, TransPerfect ranked #170 in the annual Crain's list. In 2007, moving up 25 spots, TransPerfect achieved a ranking of #145.
