NEW YORK, NY, June 28, 2007 — Translations.com, a world leader in language and technology solutions, today announced that industry veteran Jeff Allen has joined the company. Allen will manage the Translations.com Paris office and will spearhead business development and strategic account development in continental Europe. He will report to Dan O'Sullivan, Translations.com Director of Sales for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
In his previous position as Director of Professional Services for Systran, Allen was instrumental in developing and servicing key accounts, such as Symantec, Swift, Yahoo!, and Google. Prior to his employment at Systran, Allen obtained client-side experience at Caterpillar, where he coordinated a team of 150 technical writers, 20 internal linguists, and 10 translation suppliers for the company's in-house translation group.

Allen sits on the Editorial Advisory Board of Multilingual magazine and is an industry representative of the LINGUIST List Advisory Panel. He is also a certified ISO 9001:2000 auditor and holds a PhD in Linguistics from Concordia University.
