Ken Anders of TransPerfect Named Board Director of the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters

NEW YORK, September 6, 2012 – Ken Anders, division president of TransPerfect Remote Interpreting, was appointed a board director of The National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters. TransPerfect Remote Interpreting is a division of TransPerfect, the world’s largest privately held provider of language services and related technologies.

The National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (National Board) is a special division of the International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA) and is composed of interpreters, interpreter trainers, providers, and industry leaders in both the medical and interpretation fields. The mission of the National Board is to foster improved healthcare outcomes, patient safety and patient-provider communication by elevating the standards for and quality of medical interpreting through a nationally recognized certification for medical interpreters.

Ken Anders is a veteran of the interpretation services industry, having held consulting and executive positions with several interpretation services providers over the last 15 years. As division president, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of TransPerfect's remote interpretation services, including video and over-the-phone interpretation (OPI).
